With Equi-Pro, you’ll learn to tune into your horse’s physical cues and take action to enhance his quality of life and state of mind.
The cornerstone of our integrated therapy program is the LUAR system, developed and perfected by Equi-Pro founder Michele Trapp.
LUAR stands for Listen, Understand, Act, Respond—four essential elements that work together to spark positive changes in your horse.
Using touch and observation, you’ll learn to detect tics, tension, softness, suppleness, and flexibility.
What does it mean when your horse’s ears are pinned? Moving excessively? Licking or chewing? Yawning? Equi-Pro gives you the insight to translate these behaviors into terms you can understand.
Once you understand the motivation behind your horse’s actions, it’s important to apply the correct techniques in order to resolve any areas of imbalance.
What was your horse’s response to your touch? You’ll learn to look for signals like release of muscle tension, drop of head, increased flexion, and mutual grooming to let you know whether your actions are working.
From the lumbar and abdominal stress common in gaited breeds to the stressed ligaments of a hunter-jumper, physical ailments are frequently to blame for behavioral problems or performance issues. Equi-Pro has successfully rehabilitated horses with a wide range of neurological and physical ailments, including unexplained lameness, emotional stress, and internal illnesses.
Although some clients have seen immediate results when all else has failed, most clients prefer an ongoing Equi-Program. This approach helps their horses maximize their potential as valuable equine competitors and priceless companions.
