“If your horse has a movement problem that nobody seems to be able to correct, my first advice is to call Michele Trapp. If anybody can find the cause, she will.”

Gait Specifics

Achieving the gait you see in the pasture, under saddle. Focus will be on the horse’s core and center of gravity. The horse adjusts his muscular-skeletal system as necessary for the specific movement he wants to perform and the direction he wants to go.

We will explore the various anatomical adjustments the horse needs to make for successful flight.

  1. Understanding the specifics in how the horse accomplishes each gait including specific muscles and ligaments beginning with the foundation of walk. We will apply that foundation to show how to build strong tolt, classic fino, and more.
  2. Specific exercises and releases that concentrate on strengthening and freeing those same muscles and ligaments needed for that particular gait.
  3. Why the horse’s movement changes under saddle and how we can encourage or discourage.

This seminar deepens your understanding of specific muscles, and ligaments applied in the positioning of your horse’s body for particular gaits. You are provided methods enabling you to isolate and strengthen those muscles and ligaments to enhance a more rhythmic and freer gait.
